Our servers record your visit in a log. The log contains the following information:
We store these logs for a month. After the month is up we delete them. The logs allow us to detect when things are not working as expected. For example if our web server is not configured right, or pages are missing.
We use Bunny as a content distribution network. Requests to Winnow Search flow through Bunny's network so Bunny can deliver cached content and route requests to us.
To get some information about our visitors, DoNoHarm uses Ackee. This analytics software gives us insight about our visitors only in general, but not about individuals per se, as it does not track visitors and does not store any personal identifiable information. You can read their documentation if you are interested in learning more about what Ackee collects.
We store your email address, the URL of your website, the sites you add to Winnow Search, and the billing address you might provide us with if you add credit or set up automatic top-ups.
Winnow Search crawls and stores pages and PDFs from sites you add so it can build and serve a search index. We also store the settings you configure for each site, such as seed URLs, design settings, search lenses, and AI answer settings.
If your site is password protected and you provide the password so Winnow Search can crawl it, we store that password in encrypted form and only use it to provide that feature.
Winnow Search analytics store search terms, whether searches returned results, the page on your site where a search started, and clicked results. We use this information to show you how visitors use search on your site and where content may be missing.
If you use AI answers, we store request and usage information needed to operate and bill for the feature. The visitor's question and selected snippets from your site index may be sent to the AI provider used to generate the answer.
Billing and payment information is shared with our payment processor Paddle Inc. We do not sell your information.
You can delete individual sites from the administration interface. If you want your Winnow Search account deleted, or no longer have access to the administration interface, write us at support@winnow-sear.ch and we will delete it for you. We will delete all information about you except any we are required to retain by law, such as past invoices.
